At first, I kinda wrote Artificial Go off as another jittery, "we wish we were Devo"-type post-punk band, but now I know the better: they are in fact a jittery, "we wish we were Suburban Lawns"-type post-punk band. They also bring a bit of jangle pop into the mix, though on the whole I kinda feel like their albums are somewhat lacking in the nervous energy that propels their influences. On the other hand, I highly recommend them live; Angie Willcutt brings an honestly deranged, limitless energy to her performance that I found really entrancing when I saw them, and that you really can't capture with audio alone.
