It's pretty much impossible for me to avoid the comparison to Another Sunny Day here. They're both one-man bands making mopey jangle pop about relationship troubles, with the main diffence being that Brian was only almost a Sarah Records band, whereas Another Sunny Day was a Sarah Records band. Generally, I don't think the songwriting is as good here as Another Sunny Day could be at their best, though it also thankfully lacks the melodrama that makes Another Sunny Day almost unlistenable to me at their worst.
