Brighter are one of the most delicate bands in the Sarah records discography, which is already stereotyped as being pretty delicate! Half their songs don't even have drums, and the guitar just sounds like it'll break if you look at it wrong. And yet, it's not quite dreamy either, it sits in an odd in-between state like when you've woken up but haven't quite rolled out of bed yet. I also feel like a lot of the janglier, more delicate indiepop bands going today are always trying to have guitars that sound like Brighter, for better or for worse.
