I think Brilliant at Breakfast might have been the first indiepop band I'd ever heard that wasn't from an Anglosphere country? So in a way, they're indirectly responsible for the existence of this site! Anyway, they mostly do neo-acoustic pop, which isn't a branch of the genre that tends to stick with me too well. But songs like "Nobody Ever Died of a Broken Heart (But I Don't Want to Be the First)" and "If Monday'd Never Come" have been pretty consistent winners for me over the years, and there've been occasions where other songs pop into my head and I can't quite place them, so obviously they did something right with it. If you're looking for a place to start with them, please note that all the songs on Almost Verbose and their split album appear on Being Verbose is Easy, Being Verbose Ain't Easy, which itself is only like half an hour long.
