If you've ever listened to a Cocteau Twins album and wished that the lyrics were understandable, then Hatchie might be the artist for you! She's not solely a Cocteau Twins follower, of course; honestly, sometimes her vocals end up coming off a bit like the more alt end of pop (think something like Sky Ferreira's "24 Hours"). I kind of lost track of what she was doing after Keepsake, thanks to a combination of adjusting to post-graduation life and the beginnings of COVID, but I have a vague awareness that her best work might actually have come after that? Anyway, I was listening to Sugar and Spice again earlier today and it had me so confused as to how I stopped following what she was doing!
