Hey Paulette are one of those jangle pop bands that only released a handful of songs and ended up with a cult following among people who spend way too much time listening to jangle pop. Usually, cult following and a sub-hour discography is enough to get me obsessed, but it never really happened with Hey Paulette? They just sound kind of like commonplace (pun intended) jangle pop of the era to me, without anything about them really standing out. One interesting thing about them I learned while refamiliarizing myself to write this is that apparently their drummer was never an official member of the band? Like I was getting the sense that he was a member for most of the time, but never got beyond the designation of "temporary". I haven't listed him in the members above as a result of that.
