Like the title of her album, Beats and Breaks from the Flower Patch, might suggest, Kitty Craft makes sample-based indiepop, with beats that are far more prominent than typical for the genre. She's not the only one who's that type of thing, but as of the time of writing she's probably the best known one not named Jens Lekman (and even then, she's maybe a bit better than him). I think what she's got that Jens doesn't is that her songs feel warmer, a bit lower-fi (you can hear the crackle from whatever records it is she's sampling!), actually it maybe reminds me a bit of A Tribe Called Quest? Absolutely essential if you're looking for indiepop that isn't a guitar/bass/drums-type band at their core.
