Mitch Easter is probably better known for being the producer for R.E.M.'s first releases, but he also had a band of his own. I'm honestly not super familiar with their work, especially when the lineup turns over after Cypress? They're one of those Paisley Underground-ish jangle pop bands that have a bit more darkness and weight to their sound than you tend to think of with jangle pop these days, as befits a band that's toe-ing the line between indiepop and early alternative rock. Don't miss out on "Every Word Means No", one of the best indiepop songs of the era!
