If there's an indiepop show anywhere on the East Coast of the United States, there's a very good chance that Lightheaded are going to be somewhere on the bill. Ironically enough, though, they're also sort of the indiepop band that sounds the least like any of the others, to me. See, while their contemporaries tend towards late-80s/early-90s indie rock (think Sharp Pins sounding like Guided by Voices, or Paper Jam sounding like Talulah Gosh), Lightheaded seem a bit more like they're trying to fit in with 60s folk pop like the Rose Garden or the Seekers. Aside from Cynthia and Stephen, I gather that the band lineup is pretty much in near-constant flux, which probably explains why I don't think they've quite been able to live up to their potential just yet.
