You might think that there's only so much that a duo can really do to stand out, but Lunchbox is a band that delights in proving you wrong! The thing that I like best about Lunchbox is that they'll often use the studio to make themselves seem a whole lot more expansive than that; there's a lot of horns and strings and neat production choices going on in their best work. In particular, I can't help but recommend Evolver; Slumberland billed its recent reissue as a "legendary lost album" and it more than lives up to that. It takes a whole lot of influence from electronica and honestly, it still feels like the future of indiepop, even though it's more than 20 years old!
