Pennikurvers were a band that made what some people today call "tweemo". They have a serious emo pedigree: Dave and Bobby were members of the pioneering screamo band Honeywell. But at the same time, to me their songs sound far more akin to someone like Tiger Trap. In any case, they're a great band, and by straddling that line, they've even helped me be more open-minded towards emo in general.
