Ribbon Stage takes a lot of influence from the indiepop of the 1980s; their bandcamp page will tell you it's Dolly Mixture and Shop Assistants, and that's pretty true about the guitars and vocals, but to me the drumming in particular sounds exactly like early Beat Happening. The drums are also pretty far forward in the mix, I feel like, which sort of makes all the songs feel a bit plodding.
