I see a lot of people who'll compare Ray Aggs' guitar playing to Vampire Weekend, and I guess I can hear it, but that doesn't quite capture all of Sacred Paws. The thing that makes them so fun to me is that there's always so much going on with the vocals; they're harmonizing, they're doing call-and-response, they're constantly overlapping with each other. That quality is what made their 2025 album one of my most anticipated releases of that year.
