Slippers is the solo project of Madeline Babuka Black, who's in a couple bands that I've heard of but haven't really listened to too much as of the time of writing. Her songs tend to be pretty sparse with kind of propulsive drumming. As someone who's not super into the jangle/power pop end of things, I haven't really gotten too much into Slippers, though I know all my power pop friends (of whom there are many) are all very excited about what she's doing.
