I forget how I came across this one honestly, but they've got a great story to them! So, apparently they were among the first indiepop bands in the Philippines' nascent scene in the late 90s and early 00s, but aside from a handful of compilation appearances they never actually released anything? Which presumably meant that they were absolutely legendary if you were a part of the scene, but completely unknown if you were outside of it. Luckily a label got a hold of a bunch of recorded and unreleased songs and put out a compilation so now even those of us who have never been anywhere near the Philippines can hear them for ourselves! As befits a band straddling shoegaze and indiepop, listening to the first few songs on their compilation sort of makes me think of Rocketship, except Soft Pillow Kisses show a bit more restraint with the organ. Later on, they end up as one of those dream pop bands that I never have all that much to say anything about though, unfortunately.
