This one's a brand new discovery to me (as in, I'm listening to their album for the first time as I write this!), but I can already tell this is a band that people need to know about. They play a brand of mildly dreamy pop that'll be instantly beloved by any fans of Alvvays, but they're not just mere copyists. The thing that I'm finding special about sunlid is that they manage to bring a bit of noise into their songs in a way that I've never felt that Alvvays manages to pull off. Maybe it's just the excitement of finding a new favorite band talking, but I think this is a band that we'll all be talking about for a while.
