Up until Bridget Cross left Velocity Girl to join Unrest, they had been a noisy, chaotic punk group that I don't particularly care for. But once Bridget became a member starting on Imperial f.f.r.r., they shifted gears into becoming something that approximates the American equivalent of the Wedding Present, though with a much cleaner guitar sound (I've heard they used absolutely no guitar pedals of any kind, but I can't confirm that). Basically, Unrest plays everything fast: Robinson's guitar is fast, his vocals are fast, Krauth's drumming is fast (the liner notes of my copy of one of their albums says they get up to 256 bpm!) No wonder Robinson, when I saw him as an opening act for some other band, made a big deal about his playing 40 songs over the course of a single set!
