When I was first getting into Blueboy, a friend described this one to me as "ambient twee". I didn't really understand at the time, but now many years and maybe a hundred listens later, I've come to realize that my friend was right. Even for a label that often gets typecast as being the home of sensitive, delicate albums, If Wishes Were Horses stands out as easily the most sensitive and most delicate of them all. I mean, this album sounds like seafoam that's going to melt away into thin air if you look at it wrong.

I came to this review with the intention of writing more, but like, what else is there to say? Blueboy was pretty to the point on this album (it falls well short of half an hour), and so now I'm gonna be short and to the point in writing about it. You're either going to love it (like me), or you're probably going to think it embodies all the worst tendencies of the genre.
